Mercedes chatroom?

What do people think about making an online chatroom for (vintage) mercedes stuff? Like an IRC would have been. The more modern choice is Discord, but a far better option would to do a Matrix chat, which would use the Element client. It would have different channels for subjects, and possibility of voice calls even.

Not meaning that at all, just curious if anyone else is a fan of IM style communications.

I'm more old skool-I still have a rotary telephone (not really) I was involved in Technology for 35 years and a bit burned out on it

For chat everyone has to be there right then, and no record is around for looking back at or by others. And the chicks with their cams are soooooooooooo distracting

Post IM

IM seems to have vanished, I liked it .

I also like this forum and know there are already dozens of not thousands of other Mercedes message boards and forums .

Thinning things out too far isn't a good thing IMO .

If another is created, I'll give it a go .

I don't know if we would have a sufficient volume of interested parties to sustain chats. Nothing more irritating than making a comment and waiting 6 hours for a response..

I prefer it here as well but mercedeslist is still around although more than half the discussions are not MB related. Still they have some in depth info in the archives.
