Question Coffee Grounds In The Flower Bed ?

I'm @ $tarbuck$ and they just gave me two free bags of coffee grounds and said they're good to add, the roasting and brewing removes the acid .

Thoughts ? .

TIA,

Yup, coffee grounds (unflavored) are an excellent addition to poor soil. Work them in good and allow them to decompose. The flavored grounds tend to attract various insects.

Well now, who you gonna believe? Starbuck's or some anonymous guy on the internet?

The flavored grounds attracting bugs was just my experience. Could have been a coincidence because I also mixed in some compost which might not have aged enough.

As always, "Y.M.M.V.".

I have 2 starbucks I pick up from regularly. I mix the grounds with free wood chips from chipdrop and have two huge piles composting. Grounds are a nitrogen source so if composting you need to add a carbon source and keep the temps under about 145F.

I make coffee every day. The grounds end up in the compost pile. My plants seem energetic if not a bit strung out at times

We used to do that but they were attracting racoons that were digging in the garden-turned out to be a mess.

Friends of ours out in the boonies have an organic farm. Frau Putzer would collect coffee grounds from Starbucks, and we'd hand them over when we went to see them or them coming to see us.

They used the grounds in their worm farm operation. Worms loved them. Caffeine makes the worms horny and hungry. So, more worms and bigger worms.

Post Coffee Grounds

THANX FELLAS ! .

As it turns out, my dogs liked the and the sir ate some and puked up an orangy mess....

He seems fine and isn't sniffing 'round the grounds any more .

I needed to plant a prickly pear cactus 'leaf' so I hand mixed some of these grounds with my arid potting soil, we'll see how it goes .

Red face OOPS ~

I just looked and discovered I'd horribly mis spelled my last post .

Anyways, I've been adding the coffee grounds, sometimes they come with the thin paper filters mixed in, I take the time to separate that out but wonder do I need to ? .

My Sire who ate the first batch and puked, is more careful now .

Before the lockdown-smackdown, we'd collect grounds from Starbucks for our friends who have an organic farm. One of their "crops" is worms. Worms love coffee grounds. Bring jacked up on caffeine, they're hungry and horny.... bigger worms and more worms.
