i only have one key for my 86 300 sdl, and i was wondering if i could get a copy made in the same style as the flip up ones. Has anyone ever done this before or would it just be too much money or a pita?

I find my key is too small to use.

I just had a flip key made for my '97 S500. Since the flip part is also the infrared remote it was rather expensive: $131.00 plus tax. The good news was that they special ordered it and it arrived the next day.

I don't think it can be done the new flip keys are a whole diffrent set up I think. Another thing is the chip on the new keys I'm pretty sure all the new ones have it and the old keys don't. I bet you if you look hard enough some will make a key for Mercedes with old keys that flips.
