Not sure what changed but now the shipment has a working tracking number and the last 2 purchases came in 2 weeks. Nice!

My more recent limited purchases from China direct. Have seemed to be arriving much faster than years ago. Many so fast now it amazes me.

Last purchase 20 small alkaline batteries. Three dollars for all including shipping. Same batteries sold here same manufacturing company. Six dollars each and sales tax.

Counterfeit batteries are extremely common. In the E-bike world, Chinese counterfeits are more common than legit batteries from aliexpress, dhgate, ebay, etc.

Alkaline dry cells are pretty reasonable from Amazon if buying in quantity.

Post That Chinese Stuff

I try really hard to find a seller who stocks whatever it is in the U.S.A. .

The Chinese are really good about replacing defective items, I just with there weren't so many poorly made things .

I recently spent months chasing running problems on an old Motocycle, I wound up shotgunning the electrical system and in the end it turned out the brandy new $35 carby was no dang good .

I found the correct N.O.S. carby in Pakistan for $320 (ouch) , bolted it on and it now runs AS-NEW again .

I'm buying Chinese tools too, mostly special tools I'll only use occasionally .

I refuse to buy stuff from the chinese as far as possible. Of course that is impossible given that the US is now a crack whore addicted to its chinese dealer. But as much as I can I will. I see no reason to aid and abett the continued rise of Winnie the flu and his evil empire.

Ideology goes nowhere.

The products they manufactured is as good and as innovative as US or European.

Bull****. Theyve never manufactured anything unique that is of relvance to the world. They are merely the sweat shops of wall street. Their quality is crap and while "ideology goes nowhere" that only applies to the US where the crack whore is desperate for her latest fix.

For the dealer, ie, communist china, ideology goes everywhere. It enables them to succeed at the expense of the free world by using said free worlds ignorence (as manifest in your statemnt) against itself.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

Chinese went to Mar, the other side of the moon, own space station, more high speed train miles than the others combined, just to name a few. My statement that they are innovative still stands.

Another axiom, Ignorance goes nowhere.

Their high speed trains come from Germany. There is nothing they are trying to do in space that the Germans, Russians and Americans didn't do decades ago. Playing catch up is neither innovative nor impressive.

Wow-this thread went to the dark side really quick. I don't buy Chinese unless there is no other choice but I need some O rings in a size not available here. Will see how they fit in a few.
Once I bought some Christmas lights that caught fire. They were outside fortunatly. Another time I bought a power supply for my laptop and the cord pulled out of the brick exposing copper conductors(120v side)

Dim wit goes nowhere.

Look at this gigantic crane built in China shipped to Baltimore. Don't tell me this crane is copied from Norfolk, Virgina naval base.

Some Tesla burst into flame. Same for Bolt. I can list more.

The point is that there will be something faulty no matter how they were designed or where they were built. This kind of post is misleading at best, disingenuous at worst.

Both defective items were no name brand, unlisted goods via Ebay and suffered the same fault. I guess the point would be not to buy unlisted, no name products that could pose a safety risk if they malfunctioned.
