Sadly Merc Lover calls the ball......

This grieves me so. We've seen it too many times before; a lone solo security guard gets whacked for simply trying to do his/her job. Unfortunately, we are living in a day and age when lone solo security guards are simply not enough. In some other cases I've read, the first guy the bad guys target is the lone solo security guard.

I'll leave it to the rocket scientists on this forum to come up with the answers.......

I believe the days of either no security guards or the one, lone solo security guard are behind us. These street punks have NO, I repeat, NO respect for anyone or anything anymore.

Me, I'm sad that gunfire is every where, I remember when the N.R.A. actually cared about firearm safety and helped young folks learn and then set them up with a well maintained military surplus M1 .

Firearms are simply tools and like chainsaws, need to be respected and learned how to handle and maintain .

I read about one a few years back. Two bar brawlers got into a fist fight; the lone solo security guard attempted to break up the fight. They both turned on the lone solo security guard and killed him. He left a wife and two children behind.

This is nothing new and yes, it's very sad, wrong and decidedly UN AMERICAN at it's core .

My main concern is for you : why don't you like being happy ? .

You can't accept anything nice nor say thank you when you're helped out .

I'm sorry your wagon has a bad wheel bearing, it's a cheap and easy driveway repair but you don't ever say thank you so I decided this time not to walk you through it .

If you decide to look for the good in life, you'll be happier ~ I ass-U-me you were happy once as you mentioned going out dancing .

Almost all news on the media is negative in nature. Absorbing too much is probably not the best ideal for a good healthy mental outlook. It probably creates a semi depressed state in some people.

Sticking your head in the sand might be a better option. Same basic crap will be news again all too soon. I feel news is the unexpected. Or really new situations. Someone gets shot five thousand miles away. Do I really have to know that?

I am no fan of KR but he was nothing like the shooter described in the OP.

KR was not actively looking to rip someone off, to hurt someone. I agree he made himself a target by carrying the weapon. I guess some people are dumb enough to accost someone to lecture them on why they should not be carrying a weapon.

Or are you saying that he was the security guard that was assaulted? That would be a bit of a stretch, he was certainly not an official security guard in uniform.

I don’t rise to lead cheers for KR but I don’t see him as a good all purpose fall guy.

Thank you .

I don't think this conversation is suitable outside the politics forum .

We all have a right to defend our selves. I'm not a security guard nor do I want to be but if I were I'd wear a bullet proof vest at all times I was on the job. There have been more than a few instances where a vest saved a life and it looks like the security guard in the OP should have been wearing a full vest.

Post Safety Gear

Agree husky man, I think the employer should have supplied a full upper body vest .

What say you ? .

Ballistic armor isn't cheap .

I don't see that Forum on here anymore. Should this thread be closed? A lot of events in the past years or so, that are related to this.
