Security guard doodles eyes onto $1 million painting on his first day

How do you think that doing this is a good idea? I mean, its a museum for god sakes. A 10 yr old knows not to screw around with stuff in a museum.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/security-guard-doodles-eyes-onto-180000918.html

Quote:
When you boil it all down, there’s really only one job duty for an art museum security guard: secure said museum’s art. And yet...

Continuing the long, time-dishonored tradition of “improving” historic works of artistry, a “bored” security guard at Russia’s Yeltsin Center managed to deface a $1 million painting during his first (and only) shift. According to The Daily Mail and elsewhere, the man apparently scribbled beady lil’ eyes onto two of the three titular, faceless individuals in Anna Leporskaya’s “Three Figures,” dated between 1932 and 1934.

Hopefully repairable with no damage to the original painting. Perhaps he did it with no expectations of being found out? Lacking artistic talent myself I have great admiration for those that have it.

Some of the graffiti on railway cars looks like the purveyors might have some talent.

They could probably make a decent living by using that talent properly .While waiting at a railroad crossing you sometimes see some decent work.

Tampering with and destroying documents and ignoring the law is definitely a republican thing.

Probably should change the title of this thread to, "Missing guard doodles eyes on first and last day".

And Vladimir is not happy about it one bit.

To the OP, I certainly don’t approve of the defacing, but I have to note, that is one weird ass painting. Amazing the stuff that has been deemed to be great art.

Came to mind:

Portraits hung in empty halls
framless heads on nameless walls
with eyes that watch the world and can't forget
like the strangers that you've met

The ragged men in ragged clothes
a silver thorn
a bloody rose
lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
now I think I know
what you tried to say to me
and how you suffered for your sanity
and how you tried to set them free
they would now listen
they're not listening still

Perhaps they never will
