That’s right, you’ll have the chance to ride on a stunning, historic train up through New York on the upcoming Hudson River Rail Excursion. Hosted by the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey, Inc. (URHS), this rare journey will allow all foodies, day trippers and history buffs to experience a unique excursion on vintage locomotives more than 80 years old.
I wish I could go to NY for this. I have always loved trains and this looks like it would be a blast.

Some years back the Southern Pacific 'Daylighter' came to Los Angeles then went up the Pacific Coast, I wish I'da been able to go too .

I wish America would move into the 31st century by building German Mag-Lev train systems between major city routes. 300 miles per hour, luxury seating, Star Bucks coffee with your favorite reading materials......what's not to like?

Check it out!

We can’t have nice things here. We all know it’ll turn into a homeless shelter like everything else

Trains & The Homeless

A thought :

? Could the Homeless afford a ticket in this train ? .

Here in So. Cal. they mostly ride the bus or metro rail because it's cheap .

The Sheriff's used to patrol the MTA but stopped a while ago, it's some sort of B.S. political football now .

I make a point to take my foster boys on the MTA and buss , it serves to remind them how lucky they are and how easy life can go to crap quickly .

They ride the bus/trains/taxis because it’s free for them, at least in California. Low income, minorities, under privileged get free ride passes. Not that there’s anything wrong with that

No Free Ride In L.A. !

That may be true in Bakersfield but not in Los Angeles .

The cops have a constant battle with people jumping the turnstiles, very different from lying and claiming they ride free .

I'll never forget an incident when I lived in L.A back in the early 1980s. I worked downtown and took the RTD bus to work. One day, a bus passenger and the bus driver got into an argument.

Next thing we know, the bus driver stopped the bus. Both he and the passenger got off the bus and proceeded to get into a full blown fist fight. The bus driver kicked the guy's a** then got back on the bus, closed the door and began to drive the bus like nothing had happened....

Only in L.A........

Bus Drivers.....

I wish I could agree but I grew up Down East where a bus (or trolley, streetcar etc.) driver would often stop and 'take care of business' when rowdy drunks, kids or gang bangers acted up .

Those days are long past anywhere in America .

For real fun, take the Ghetto bus where you're the only white person on board, very educational if not always fun .
