And the cops should not be jumping to unfounded conclusions. This how blacks have been treated since forever and a big part of the problem in relations. ( BTW Wasn't his home he was watering at the request of absentee owner) Would have been perfectly reasonable for him to state the facts and ask that the complainant be brought over to straighten this out. She did a fine job of that after he got jacked up. Cop screwed up. There was no threat and both he and the biddy were wrong. No way the vic should have to pay for that.

In ancient rome, citizen complaints were handled well.....

911: "Ancient Rome 911, what is your emergency??"

Complainant: "My neighbor is playing his music too loud".

911: "Stand by, we are sending the Roman police right over...."

When the cops showed up at the complainant's house it went like this:

Cops: "First, we are here responding to YOUR complaint, OK? That said, if we find out you are LYING about your neighbor (bearing false witness), you will be executed by crucifixion immediately - do you wish to continue with your complaint??"

Complainant: "Uh,,,,,I'm not sure.......

Cops: "If you wish to continue with your complaint against your neighbor you will need to swear out a formal written complaint before an officer of the court - do you wish to do that?"

Complainant: "On second thought, I wish to drop my complaint"

Cops: "Great, have a nice day!"

Post On The Other Hand.....

It was 111* F in the shade today so of course I was working and around 3 o'clock I finished up and took a test drive to fill up the tank and see if the repair leaks coolant etc.....

I stopped at the 7-11 in cracker town Ca. (Arcadia) and was fronted by THREE beggars .

The young female one had a large hacksaw sticking out of her backpack, I was curious but when it's this hot I can't wear my hearing aids because they fill up with sweat and buzz....

As I came out I had two dollars change but only the female came up to me so she got one .

Inside the store was a local patrolman, I asked him is it okay for bums to try to intimidate folks into giving money and I dunno what he said but apparently the answer is yes .

I live in The Ghetto so I expect bums , grifters and what not but not in whiteville .

In my day they'd chase long hairs (" ! GOD DAMN HIPPIES !") out of town .

Late one evening years ago, I stopped in at a partcular Taco Bell that is in a part of town that is known to be frequented by prostitutes. As I waited in line to place my order, a couple of cops came up and began talking to a young woman standing at the counter.

It seemed fairly obvious she was a hooker/prostitute. After the cops left the restaurant, I asked her if the cops were bothering her. No, she said, they simply wanted to know if she was alright and to make sure no one was taking advantage of her.

Smile The Facts

I see you responded then realized you don't know as usual so you changed your reply .

For those who care here is what husky man said first :

" There are countless cases they failed to investigate properly. I've learned that whoever is teaching them doesn't understand the fundamental basics of proper criminal investigative techniques.

It is really scary out just how bad they screw up basic criminal investigations......
"

It's O.K., not to know, we don't know many things either but we don't go making up stories or whatever bull you spew this time .

Fixations on poor police performance is possibly an issue with where people choose of are forced to live. If I were put in handcuffs I consider myself as being arrested. If this was the case and there was no reason or charges. I would not hesitate to sue for false arrest.

We have in essence no real crime in this region we live in. Enough is going wrong in high population areas of Canada. That our regional population is increasing and it is not new immigrant based.

Our big cities in so many ways are no longer really desirable places to live. It is both expected and convention for our police to act well.

I grew up in the largest city in Canada. It is almost a jungle there compared to what it once was now. To control the population a huge amount of rules and regulations are employed. Plus as a requirement the police force tend to be more aggressive to meet the need.

A yardstick I have developed. If there is a homelesness component in the area one lives in to me it has failed socially in certain ways. Although the drug issue to some extent seems to be everywhere. No place is utopia yet some regions are far better than others.

Personally I feel many more people than ever are thinking about their quality of life. Plus starting to beat their feet to better places to live.

I still feel we only live once so why live in a high stress area of a country? We are far more free here than I would have any chance of being in a large city today. Economic factors today are also playing a very large roll in getting old line Canadians out of the larger cities. I all too well remember in general you never really even knew your neighbors well. Where here you know a huge amount of them fairly well.

People also tend to be a lot more friendly as the stressors of life are far less. The majority of people here did not even have house morgages until two years ago. Housing costs where that low. Rent to own was the convention.

Economic slavery was rare. It still remains a weak factor compared to the hotter areas of Canada. Yet even here I can see it emerging more. With the recent economic changes underway especially. I am sure there must be areas of America that are still like this as well. We do have police but I have never even seen a police car for months. for the last few months I have been commuting between the cottage 17 miles away from home almost every day for example and in town daily as well. There is never any real traffic to contend with either. I really do not believe i have seen even the presence of one police officer anywhere in that time frame. My gues what work they do is domestic disturbances.

They certainly do not do much traffic law enforcement as I have never got a ticket in the forty plus years we have been here. You are expected to drive reasonably here and we do in general. Where I always picked up at least one ticket almost every month in Toronto. Even if it was just a parking ticket.

Property taxes there have also ballooned past reality. Who owns this shack anyways? That is actually pretty well across the whole province of Ontario. where we have pretty much the same services here at a tenth of the Cost. Yet the average incomes are very simular here as well as there.

Quite a few ambulances though. I have to drive forty miles from the local town of ten thousand to find a parking meter.

Common sense here still exists in a big way. It is currently under attack in some ways though.

Good to hear Canada is still a good place to live .

Interestingly I live where supposedly it's very bad (The Ghetto) yet I don't see the same cops like the TV and movies like to portray .

In only takes a few to ruin the name of all. The primary problem from my viewpoint is a failure to punish bad behavior, and a tendency of police departments to protect bad cops out of a misguided sense of "for the good of the department".

Backfires completely. That way the majority of good cops get painted with the brush of the deeds of the bad cops.

Thumbs up

JB# ;

I agree completely .

If the cops are not held to the same standers why should citizens ? .

Simple basic logic and I'm a police supporter .
