Question 1993 300cecv cabriolet

Can anyone tell me why my convertable goes down with authority but barley makes it back up? this just started recently, could it be low hydrolic fluid or the motor, if its hydro how do i check it and where is it located......

You might want to contact MBenz about this: he has a 300CE-24 convertible which he has taken to pieces and re-assembled; he also is familiar with the operation of the R129 (SL) hood mechanism. You can get his e-mail from his user profile, his website (www.mbenz.nl); he doesn't do much on this forum anymore but can be found in the Benzsport forum (www.benzsport.com). Good luck and nice car!

To Inspect the OIl Level for the Top Motor ..
Remove the Spare tire
Remove the Plastic cover around the Spare tire
You will See the Pump/Bottle for the Fluid level
Hope this helps
