Wow wow wow. Great trip.

Well, got to "work out" the new SL on something other than the dead-straight boring-as-hell Highway #2 between Calgary and Edmonton. I LOVE it. Handling is beyond anything I ever imagined.

On the Coquihalla highway, I easily took corners at 140 km-h that my Camry would have flown off the road on. And it seemed like I could go even faster, but I don't have that high of nerve-level. Also, trying to keep out of jail!

We had a great time on the coast, and the SL got lots of attention. Most seem to come from BMW drivers! Envy? At Grandville Island, we parked next to a BMW Z8, and our SL had a crowd, and the Z8 had nobody even bothering to look. It's homely compared to the SL! (I am biased...) The guy spending the most time asking about the car and commenting on it's great looks was the Z8 owner! He told me that a Z8 in Canada sells for about $200-210,000! Could that be true? So much more than the SL?

One thing that everyone seemed to notice was the headlights. It's got those new Xenon lights, and people thought it strange that both the low and high beams are Xenon. Is this unusual?

Well, got to run. Got to put some more (s)miles on my new 'gal.

If "blackmercedes" is reading, give me a call at my daughters, as we'll be here (Edmonton) until Thursday at least, and we'll have coffee.
