Argh! Another Scratch, I need your help

Ok, today I had the windshield replaced on my car due to an offending chip that was nearly dead in front of my eye sight. The insurance company said it would need to be replaced because of it's location.

Anyways they covered everything but the deductable and they even got the insurance company to pay for new lower molding. The shop came to my house to install the glass and 1 hour into it they asked if I had a electrical plug outside. I pointed one out and didn't think anything of it. 30 minutes later I decided to go outside to see why it was taking so long since they usually say 40 minutes. When I get out there I see glass shattered everywhere on the interior of the car as well as the paint! I asked what the hell happened and they said, "whoever installed the last windshield didn't install it properly and they had to pry it out. The car still looked ok at this point but had glass everywhere.

Anyways 2 hours later they completed the task and when I went to look at it they pointed to a scratch they made on the A pillar! They stated they would repair the scratch and gave me a number to call for a paint shop. There's no way I'm going to use there paint shop so I'm asking anyone living in SD if they know someone who does excellent touch up work (airbrush).

Please let me know, I would even consider someon in LA if they are really good!

keep your original paint when you can. airbrushing doesn't really work that good. look for a chipswasay franchise. check chipsaway site and see if they have anyone in SD or LA. they have a special process that guarantees a perfect match for scratched and chips...

Afshin,

Sorry to hear about the scratch :( OOUUCH.

I will definitely follow Mark's advise and check out Autowerks. I've got already good references from them when I started looking for a place to monotone the E420.

Mark/Ernesto,

I'll definitely take a look at Autowerks, I've heard from many that they do good work. I really don't want to respray the car so I hope they have a good method of touching up the scratch.

jsmith,

I checked out the chips away website but only found marketing and information to become a dealer. I'll take a look for distributors here in SD but I have to say I'm leaning towards Autowerks.
