Is the SLK too womanly?

I've been driving my mother's SLK for a couple of days and really love it. Like most people on this board I'm a real MB fan and would be reluctant to depart from the brand. But is an SLK just too girlie for a young fella like me (26)? What would you get SLK320 or Boxter 2.7 Tip? And what do you make of the SLK 32 AMG?

I don't think its too girlie, personally I'd take the AMG or the porsche.

I agree it's a litlle to womanly for me. But there is something about the word Porsche that makes it sound manly

I agree with you to Bill but out of the 2 I feel the Porsche is the manly of the 2.

I see more women driving Mercedes than Porsche. But I would go for the SLK

Actually, I see more silver-haired gents in the SLKs down here than women!

Now if we can get a rapper to be seen in one on a video shoot, things would change!

I was at the MB showroom one day with my wife and she had me "try on" several of the models...didn't like how I looked in any of the vehicles except the E.

But when I got in a red Boxster in another showroom, she acted as if she wanted me right there in the showroom!

I guess between the SLK and the Boxster, the Boxster would obviously get me more action!!

The new Boxsters are even more awesome, and the prices haven't changed a bit. Subtle changes but the Boxster looks like a Boxster S now except for the exhaust, which is also new I guess. More power even in anticipation of BMW's new Z.

And no, the SLK is far from being a "girlie" car. I particularly like the "fighting" stance, perched forward and ready to go. To me the new SL with the softer rounded lines seems less aggresive.

Both of these cars come with powerful 6-cylinder engines (well, at least optionally) and manual transmissions.

Both of them will run 0-60 in around low 6s (Base Boxster) to high 4s (SLK32 AMG).

These are fast, competitive cars people.

A New Beetle or a PT Cruiser could be considered "girlie". These cars are something else, entirely.

Besides, girlie cars can't beat up on 5.0 liter Fords like these cars can
