Beware of Moving Utility Poles !!!

Apparently from what I'm reading on the EBay ad, this nice lady had her 1975 240D absolutely RUINED by a utility pole that HIT HER! I had no idea the plague of moving utility poles had progessed into my state! :)

If you've been drinking a bit, does a "stick shift" become a "shick shift"? And if someone says the car ran "prefect" does that help you in a court case?

Just funning......

Lol, utility pole looks like a tree to me :)

Thanks for the warning Ken, and here I was thinking that curbs were the only thing that would jump out and hit a car. From now on I'll definitely keep my eye out for those mobile utility poles :D

What does she mean by "slow" speed? lol

It did pretty good damage I would say.. pushed the radiator in deep and maybe something else.

Well, I'm sure that puny little tree couldn't be what did the damage. It had to have been towed there in her yard.

What really impresses me about this picture is the fact that the driver hit the pole dead-center-on. I mean right smack in the middle. It's something I don't think I could ever achieve sober.

Now of course if the pole hit HER that's another story. Utility poles are well-known to be very accurate in their aim.

I sent her an email.... I said "since when do Utitlity poles move?"

Here is what I got from her...

"Hello, well lets just say it wouldnt get out of the way.I ran over a piece of
metal in the road and that made my tire blow and there was the pole."

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Ever see those trailers being pulled behind a pickup truck that was MADE from the back end of another pickup truck? Maybe its a southern thing.....

But this car would be good for making a trailer for your 300D. Cut off the back end and weld a towing tongue to it. You'd even get an auxiliary fuel tank in the deal!
