Kids and Mercedes
Well THis year I'm stunned there are so many MBs at my school
there are as fallows 91 350sd 86 300sdl ML 320 96 S500 89 300E 01 C230 96 E420 This is up from the 2 last year. I love seeing them everywhere but it kinda takes away from being special. Is it similar where everyone else is? Just got me wondering if this is a new fad like women and SUVs |

It's like that too over here.. just that you don't see the pre-2000 MB's.. only MY2000 cars. But then again some of these guys are 20+ yr old just that some of them look 18 hehehe..
I still think they made a nice choice that's all. I've seen some high schools where some students drive C32's, etc. My father would kick me out of his house if I had mentioned anything like that when I was in high school..hehehe... Then again if I was already driving .. say.. an SL55 hehehe then I don't think I will know what I want when I start making my own money hehehe..

Kids apparently have more disposable income than I remember when I was in high school in the 70's! (Now I really sound like a Dad ).
Still, the (artificially manipulated) gas crisis was a reality, and muscle cars values plummeted due to their gas-guzzling habits. So kids back then could procure Z-28s, 427 Chevelles, Trans Ams Barracudas, etc. for a couple of grand!! Try to get one in good condition now! A good used MB is probably a lot cheaper! Few MBs dot the parking lot at FedEx. Hondas, Bimmers and domestic SUVs rule. But I plan on finding a good solid W126 when my daughter reaches driving age...but that will probably be one of many MBs that will be on her campus by then...

Back at my old high school, there were tons of Mercedes, and every other nice car you could imagine! Of course that pissed me off, because I didn't get my Mercedes until AFTER high school.
I remember there was this one chick, 16 yeard old, and she had her dad's old 500E... needless to say, a year or so later, it was totalled. But everyone was fine. BTW, 96 E420 doesn't exist!

There is a E420 in 96 check it out http://www.automotive.com/reviews/1996/Mercedes-Benz/1996_Mercedes-Benz_E420.html
. There are a lot of Hondas at school as well as TONS of SUVS. I have the only BMW as of right now. |

That add is inaccurate. The W210 chassis did NOT have a V8 until 1997, the E420.
