We've just bought a 560SEL 1989 and are having trouble with the sunroof - when we try to close it, it won't stop at the closed position - it continues on to open from the back. Any ideas? on how to fix it or where to look to get a repair manual, owners manual, and/or advice? Thanks so much!

you sure it's not working properly and you are just activating the "tilt" feature. These cars have a "tilt" sunroof which means the back will raise up and allow fresh air in without having your roof open. Very convienant for parking in hot sun etc.

I had sunroof problems on my 86 420SEL and I caqn tell you things can get pretty compicated in there. From the sounds of it the switch may not be acting properly. Havings someone who knows alot about this model's sunroofs will save a lot of time and money in figuring out the problem
