Contact your state's Department of Insurance and ask about complaints, bad faith claims, etc.

Also check with your BBB and the BBB where 21st Century's HQ is located.

Sometimes, the Office of the Attorney General for your state will have some additional information (Texas recently filed suit against Farmers Insurance).

Hope this helps

....all very good points....

mushedroom,

One other thing to consider is to 'work backwards' to find a good carrier.

What I mean is, find a shop (or two or three) you would feel comfortable with repairing collision damage to your car. Then, contact the owner of the shop and tell him/her what your are doing. Say "I want to get your experience in which insurance company provides the least hassle when repairing a vehicle properly."

They will likely help you by telling you which carriers are best to work with, without having to find out 'the hard way'....filing a claim yourself!

I have had them for 6 years and they are very good. I just totaled my Toyota T100 4x4 and they are very generous on the buyout price.

I give them an A+

i've used 21st century for the last 4 years and am very happy. never had any arguments from them on where i got my cars fixed and their prices are excellent if your driving record is clean. i would definitely recommend them.

Unhappy 21st Century Has Changed

My son has front end damage to his 2006 C230. 21st century is our insurance carrier. The repairs were approved for after market parts only.

I wouldn't believe that for a second...

ALL insurance companies use aftermarket and LKQ parts whenever possible, and ALL of them will lie to get your business. Many don't even write for CAPA certified anymore. If you want new OEM parts on your car, you need a rider on your policy that states OEM only, and you WILL pay for that option.

isn't it sad that the insurance business has degenerated
to this point? i know of people who were given next to nothing for damage repairs by their insurance carrier. it's the old "you pay us like clock work but when it comes time for us to take care of you, we will drag our feet" routine. and take a look at their financials, they are making major $$$$$ from the "pay us/we might not pay you" business.

I have been happy with them. They worked with me on multicar low mileage cost. When I find a V12 lets see if they will split 10K miles three ways.
