Enough pints, and I'll eat almost anything!

Although too many pints, and I might just be able to observe what I just ate!

If only your wife knew your weakness. She would be driving a brand new '03 SL instead of signing papers on a balloon payment!

In some parts of the world, Turtles are raised for food, and cows are worshiped as secret.... Even horses are consumed as food in some nations.

In my child days, whale meats were so cheap no one liked them. It used to show up in school lunches (good 30 years ago...)

Jelly Fish and Sea Cucumbers are food, too....

No, they are not considered exsotic food.... they are everyday meats like beef and pork to us.
Why? Because I am a Tortoise keeper, as well as a TortoiseTrust member. www.tortoisetrust.org

Most turtle/tortoise species are threatened/endangered.... and don't need to be eaten. To where ever the **** they eat turtles/tortoises.. send them chicken or something.

By the way... its as I would tell some dog-lover that dog meat is good! How would you feel?

G-Benz.. I got nothing to say about what you said

I believe tkamiya was just stating a fact when he said that all sort of animals are eaten as an everyday thing in many "civilised" societies. But that doesn't mean that he endorses the practice. If he hadn't had shared that, we would have only one fact to look at. I am not keen on meat very much and although we could easily get a bowl of turtle soup from down the street, I don't.

We get all sorts over here- snakes, deers, wild boars. One man's meat is another man's poison.

He's right. I learned my lesson well when I got kicked out of the boy scouts. I ate all the brownies.

I don't oppose your cause, but try to keep in mind, for some OTHER people, what you and I eat are truly hateful and discusting, like eat pork, beef, or whatever OTHERS think secret, dirty, etc, etc, etc.

What is good/bad is simply a reflection of one's culture and belief. When people in Asian countries eat turtles, they are usually consuming turtles that were farm raised for this purpose.

I hate to see someone HATE certain group of people doing certain things that are perfectly acceptable in their cultures. Especially among my Mercedes friends.
The only problem is that site whats selling TURTLE meat is from the US.. not some asian country. Besides... most if not all of the turtles that are eaten in the asian countries are WILD CAUGHT. Not to mention they are ENDANGERED. Why eat something thats not necessarily needed to live? I mean they have other more suffiecient alternatives such as pork and chicken. How much meat does one turtle actually provide? Not enough and not worth the price thats paid to rid of something endangered in my oppinion.

My bad.. I don't want to sound like some animal rights freak. I am no way like that. Besides.. i am not much or at all into animal rights. I don't belong to any group like PETA or what not. I just am a turtle/tortoise enthusiast. I have kept them all my life.. and currently keep 2 tortoises.

About the snapping turtles... I am not sure, but check this link out since it deals with them http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/snappers.htm

I agree with you.. if you want to eat turtle, its your choice. I am strongly against it, but what can I do?

take care.. and sorry for starting all this :p

don't mess with turtles and/or tortoises
