MB-shop didn't have MB coolant.
This just bugs me a bit. I went to my local MB shop and asked for MB coolant because of all the thread I've seen about MB and other stuff.
THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT! I couldn't believe my ears first when they told me that they didn't use it. When they noticed that I got surpriced by their answer they said something like: But we use another brand that MB have accepted for their motors... Is that so...are there really some subtitutes or is MB coolant the only way to go?

I believe Zerex makes an extended life coolant that is pink. My Indy mechanic uses this and I've had it in my car for the last 6 months with no overheating problems.
I'm surprised your MB dealership doesn't have it, you would think they get a significant discount and make a decent profit on it.

Exactly...That's what I was thinking too. I still don't get it. But on the other hand...they aren't very good at it. And what can you expect of a dealer that sells Volvo and Renault besides benzes...j/k

Here in the U.S., I believe only Zerex is the only equalivent coolant we have available. You live in Finland, so I can't say what is equalivent to the MB stuff. An interesting fact, is that the MB coolant here in the U.S. is made in the U.S. for MB. I am sure the MB coolant in Finland is made elsewhere.
