What's on your Keyring?

What do you have on your car key ring? I carry my car key loose and seperate in my pocket. My wife has her C230 key on a ring with a replica of her house key from when she lived with her grandmother before she went off to college (She keeps the original house key in with her 'treasures').

Any one else do anything unusual with their keyrings - make it bulky and easy to find, or unobtrusive so it isn't a problem? Odd key fobs? Same ring as all the other keys in your life, or car key seperate?

Cape Cod lighthouse keychain (kitschy I know ) and the MB key. I have quit carrying a house key since we got power garage doors and an alarm. I have separate VW, Chevy, and Alfa keychains.

I have an old polo leather key fob (need to replace) with my house key, office key, and electroninc chip to get into school, 3 Benz keys 1 per car, and the Range Rover Key. I keep any remotes seperate.

I got some "star" key rings for free from the dealer when we bought the SL. We got enough of them to put each spare key on one of those fobs.

The others "star" key rings I purchased myself prior to that.

I don't like to keep a bunch of keys in my pocket, so just a car key and a house key on the MB key fob for all the cars.

The wife doesn't like to sort through the assortment of keys, so she keeps our house key, a neighbor's key, and all of the car keys on one (Dooney & Bourke) key fob. Since two of the cars have those bulky "switchblade"-type units, it's a busy looking set!

I want to get those die-cast miniature key fobs of the E, SL and ML, and keep one primary key on each one. Then it would be easy to identify which set I am looking for...

I just have the leather key fob.....1 key, for my MB

However,

My son has one of those long strap key chains with a bunch of stuff on it, quite frankly, that scratches the heck out of his car when he locks/unlocks it. The strap hangs out of his pocket and is always getting caught on stuff........kids,,,,I don't get it.

Don't take my ranting seriously, he's a good kid, but the keychain just tickles me to death.

Consider me a "key minimalist". I hate the feel of a lot of keys and stuff in my pockets! So I use two:

KEY FOB ONE: ignition keys for the 190 and the 320 attatched with a mini-Leatherman. My brother-in-law gave me the little Leatherman a couple years ago. "Once you put it on your keychain you'll use it every day!", he said. How true that is!

KEY FOB TWO: ignition key for the 300-D and keys for my house and my parents' places. Also the hanging thingy for getting into the gym is on this fob. These are attatched to a chromed Campagnolo bicycle fork end with an extra little notch in it for opening beer bottles (after arriving home, of course).

My brother, the mechanic of the family, also warned me years ago that having a lot of keys hanging from the ignition wears it out.

PS The original owner of my E 320 (a housewife) obviously had a lot of crap hanging from her massive key fob-- below the door locks are a million little mini-dings from the countless keys all banging the door every time she opened it!
