UPDATE: My car in progress!

http://www.a-p-group.com/ashman/cars

Check out the pics.

The S500 is my dad's loaner from mb for destroying his SL interior, and are getting him another one.

The Volvo is my rental... too bad someone hit and ran into it in a parking lot and bashed in the right door. oh well. glad it wasn't my benz....

Anyway, the other car's I have pictures up of are the infamous rolls, and a few cars lying around the bodyshop that the owner is working on.

BTW, my kit is going on, and its going to be put on to perfection!!!!

Alon

All new trunk!!! Meaning, New floor, lid and rear. the sides of my cart have been repaired perfectly. No bondo here at all fellas....

Rolls

Ash,

Out of curiosity why do you say "infamous" and not "famous" Rolls.

I like the cars, but the silver spur is a little boxy looking and looks like a buick in some ways, lol.

Lol...that pic you posted of your trunk looks eerily familiar.

Even the welding spots are identical...glad to see the car being brought back to life!

dealership put permaguard on it, and the interior became all splotchy with dull and glossy finish all over, and it had a different tecture. the wood had permanent streak marks in it and it just looked horrible.

The reason I say infamous rolls, is that it has had a long hard life, and has well over 200k miles on it.

so is the dealership just replacing the interior or replacing the entire SL altogether with a new one? one more question, are Roll's actually reliable cars? i was always under the impression that just to change the oil it'd cost 100 bucks. Sorry for all the questions, just me being nosey

they are finding him a replacement car. he refused to let them replace the interior, because that would mean dismantling the entire interior of the car, and the fit and finish may not be the same as it was fromt he factory.

as far as the rolls, it is generally reliable if you maintain it well, but when something does break it costs $$$$. The rear shocks alone cost like $2500 for the parts.

Looks like things are progressing well.

A few questions:

1. What body kit are you putting on the car?

2. You must be re-painting the whole car. What color are you painting it? The original color?

3. Are you updating the hood to the 94/95 look? There's nothing wrong with the original look. I like the chrome better, but everyone else seems to like the newer look...

4. Did you have to kick in any of your own money, or did the insurance money cover the whole thing?

I can't wait to see what it looks like. We'll have to arrange another GTG before the year is up.

You have to get a look at my new steering wheel.

I am putting on the AMG Style bodykit.

The car is not being completely repainted, as the shop I took it to can color match it and will clean up the paint.

Other than that, no other mods, no hood upgrade or anything. I like the look of the front of my car.
