Picking Pedals

This is kind of a survey question. How do you pick pedals? I'm asking because I've seen several pedal packages that will say they fit anything from a "C" up to an "S" class and I can't imagine a one size fits all pedal would be appropriate for all models.

So, do you pick pedals based on size, design, or just basically function(for example you heel/toe a lot and a certain pedal makes that maneuver easier)?

Check out this thread, it has part numbers. Be sure to check the other pages, as it also lists certain applications and some differences some models do share.
