chain slapping?
OK, dont know if the chain on my engine is slapping but recently on some cold starts i heard a tapping sound when it was starting up. What could this be?
The chain has been changed 2yrs ago.

the tapping lasts for maybe 2-3 seconds.

Our 380SE's lifters ticked for 50,000 miles. The right-side ones still do (left side replaced after chain break in June).
No problems, just annoying, and a way for non-car people to talk smack about your car, b/c they think it'll explode any second. :p -Sam
