Remote Entry on a W126
how easy is it to have remote entry on a 1983 w126? Does it cost alot and is it recommended or safe to do?

how do they make the lights flash when the remote unlocks the car and locks it? Or is that even possible?

there is a thread that addresses the light flash confirmation. the keyless entry system has to have specific output for that function and i believe it is wired to the light switch. i am thinking of upgrading my jcwhitney $29 special to a version that chirps a confirmation because right now it doesn't give any indication other than sound of the vacuum pump and visual confirmation which can be somewhat inconvenient...

Keyless w/ flashing light
The rest of my collection of links on this topic: JCWhitney mercedesshop bstreep procedure relay tutorial I am leaning more towards the chirp or horn ala Audi-VW. I don't wan to have to run wires through the interior yet again. I am planning on installing it all in the trunk where I already tapped into the vacuum system. If anyone has recommendations on specifit units pleas post. I have seen K9 and Crimestopper systems for $40 on ebay.

Remote Start?
On a related topic, has any one put in a remote start on a dsl.
I/they tried but somehow couldn't get it to start the engine. For remote entry try the viper product at circuit city. They do the work as well!

there are newer systems that specifically says "diesel compatible". it's easy for them to program a wait after turn-on for the glow plugs...
