2003 International Car Show San Francisco

Well, I am not convinced on the 2003 butt ends of the E320
and C280. Kind of reminds me of a 1980's Toyota Celica.

Hmmm .... not sure exactly what the designers were thinking when they designed the wheels on the lexus.

Sunday was the last day for the show.

On one of the new E classes, someone messed up the hood hinges by trying to FORCE the hood down when it was in the 90 degree position.

I was impressed by the new E class, and CLK, less so by the C and S class.

Speedy, what specifically impressed you with regard to the E class ? What is your opinion on the trunk lines?
My biased opinion on the c-class is that the interior of my 1995 is nicer than the 2002/3. I like my dash and wood trim although the new cars have a few more interior amenities.

Also did you check out that KIA Ion with the instrument cluster
set in the middle of the dash? I found that to be clever. Not a new design since that was a concept car design from long ago, but it felt comfortable as far as visual ease goes. the car in general is a cheap POS.

S class does not seem too attractive on the inside. Japanese luxury cars kick butt on this issue.

123C. -- This week I have family coming over from all over otherwise it would have been interesting to get together.
Have fun in San Francisco. Good weather lately but it may turn a bit on the weekend.

What impressed me about the new E class was how good the overall profile looks in person. Very smooth lines. Interior isn't too bad, comfortable and spacious as one would expect from Mercedes, but some of the switches don't seem to be too well made.

I like how on the new CLK, the air vents (and overall dashboard profile) seem like an updated version of a W123. Nostalgic!

All I know is that when I sat in the E-class at the SF Auto Show and opened up the glove compartment, I couldn't get it to close back up. Great quality control Mercedes!!
I like the front end of the new E, but the rear looks cheap, kind of like a Dodge Neon.
