accurate specs?

I was just wondering where you could find accurate specs for old benzo's. I was using the NADA website, where they give the weight of the vehicle to compare my 450SL with kim's 250SE, and she thinks her car is heavier and that NADA is wrong [it says she's 600lbs lighter than the 450] anybody know somewhere I can get accurate specs?

unfortunatley, it only shows the max load carriable on the car, and on each axel. It doesn't include the weight, so these numbers are an overestimate, and they are not always accurate.

Buy a copy of Mercedes-Benz Production Models 1945-1995, by Nitske.

Tons of stats......

I disagree with the the implication 'full of mistakes'. Yes, I have seen some differences in technical specs on a limited basis.

However, DBAG provided a lot of the photos, stats, etc. Funny, I've seen conflicting statistical data in MB's OWN sales brochures.

Still, I think that this is the best available source for a broad range of MB's.....I'd trust it more than stats on the internet, especially when it comes to the older models as 4NDELIT is searching for.

Hope this helps.

No argument that it's a great model identification guide.

how about taking both cars to your nearest highway weigh station -- or to a gravel/cement dealer that has a big scale -- you could make a head to head comparison! :D
