That doesn't mean the town itself is bad. The college campus has some neat architecture, and I enjoyed the people I met. The country side is pretty, kind of like here in the northwest, just alot flatter. The prison is an entity all to itself far as I could tell. I knew some of the people that worked there, and they were no different then the rest of us, just making a living and doing their job.
So yes, I saw it as a nice town

We do not encourage would be felons to commit crimes in Texas. They do so at their own peril. Those preferring to not risk the death penalty should consider breaking the law elsewhere. Like maybe in Mexico where there is no death penalty.

PS So far none of our executed criminals have since been repeat offenders.
