Saw a nice 300CD for sale
I was driving along Ed Potters Mercedes in Columbus today and saw an antracite gray/tan leather 1985 300CD for sale. I decided to stop and check it out since I sort of liked its appearance. I examined the car on the outside and saw few nicks and scratches.. no dents, but saw some scratches and a repainted area on the trunk corner which was barely visible. Anyways.. I examined the inside and it was nearly perfect! I would rate the outside the car a 7.5 to an 8(max) out of 10 (10 being brand new). The inside was a definite 9.5! The car only has 50,000miles.. and the engines was super clean! The price was $7,500.... driven by an old lady. If I had the $ now.. I would offer $5500 for it.. and see what happens. But presently I am happy with my car and am not in the market presently to buy the car. So I decided to share the info on this nice car.

Snibble,
Hi. I was there yesterday too! I had to drop my 420 off and I saw the 300D coupe as well. I called later and got the same story, a little old lady in Dayton owned it. Engine was replaced 15,000 miles ago because all the oil came out?!?!?!?! I didn't dig into that one, maybe later if anyone is interested. But yes, the car did look great. I'm amazed at how little leg room the back seat has. It's really a 2 person car as far as I'm concerned.

Hi there.. the back seats look as if no one has ever sat in there. I found no leg room in the back so that maybe a reason Oh and the gentleman showing me the car did not mention anything about the engine being replaced.. just that there might have been bodywork done. I personally wouldn't shell out $7500 on it. The insides was perfect.. the outside and the grill were not that super. If the car was "showroom".. then maybe, but exterior was not.

I didn't look at the exterior that close at all (it was cold out!). I would say it's a $4,500 to $6,500 car, depending on documented history (service & repair), quality of body work, was the engine replacement new from MB or used, and so on. Many factors. I wonder if they have any warranty on the car at all, at least a 30 day one would be a nice gesture.
