Steering Wheel Option

I see that MB offers a heated steering wheel option now (akin to the heated seats).

Here is an idea for the MB engineers. Design a steering wheel COOLING device. I don't know about most folks, but when I get into a cold car, the steering wheel ain't my primary concern. Might be my Icelandic background with a greater (?) resistance to cold weather.

HOWEVER, during hot summers, a steering wheel can burn your hands until it eventually cools off.

I would never bother with purchasing the heated steering wheel as an option. Give me a steering wheel cooling device and I would PAY for that feature in a nanosecond.

Just a thought.

MB has listened to your prayers for relief. In another thread an MB tech discussed the solar panel powered fans that are optional on new MB's that cool the cabin air while the car is parked. I'm not sure that the fans would make the cars safer for owner's poodles on hot summer days, but they should make getting into the car a bit more pleasant. As for me, I just use a custom fitted windshield reflector to protect the dash and wheel.
