I've read posts indicating many carry a twist on the facts. Some say that halon is illegal and/or you just can't get it anymore. The EPA reclasified it many years ago restricting its use to aviation and a few other niche use areas. Check with any supply company who supports 'experimental' aircraft...that is small private airplanes.
Further note. For those who have it in your trunk, have you thought about the scenario when you quickly needed to use it effectively? Fire is a panic situation and having to take many steps and fumble with keys and rummage around looses those preious seconds which make a difference. And there is that situation, such as when I was recently rear-ended and couldnlt open the trunk! Bummer. And I was only after my camera. My wife was trapped in the car but fortunately there was no fire because my Halon was in the other car!. In my car it stays at my side or it stays in my garage. I hope you never need to use yours. I thought I was a cool together guy until I smelled smoke. Color me totally bezerk for 15 seconds.
Think bezerk is a German word. TIC. End of ramble.
Enjoy...
