Why is RED BULL so expensive?

I was thinking today that RED BULL energy drink is outrageously expensive. why is that? i mean really $2.00 for 8oz's of caffeine packed sugar water?

it does taste good and makes a nice cocktail when mixed with vodka.

Why? Probably because it CAN be. The 'ol supply and demand thing I guess. I have to figure there's probably not much more cost in making the stuff than a can of pop. But people are willing to pay the price for a specialized drink like that(myself included.) Probably the same as a $41.00 hamburger (from another thread)

Red Bull is expensive because its imported from Austria(I believe) and they also use it to make alcoholic drink mixes.

WC Fields

Why is red bull so expensive?

WC Fields saying holds true or in politically correct terms its what the market will bear. Price connotes some qualities to the product as well.

Stay safe and send less money to the oil barrrrrrrons!

Don't know about others but I can't do those high caffeine drinks. I've had Red Bull once and gave me one helluva belly ache. Tried the Starbucks Double Shot and two things happened from there:

1. Worked INCREDIBLY fast that morning for about 45 minutes until the "high" wore off.

2. One helluva belly ache!

My drink is tea. Iced or hot. Nothing in the world better than tea. In the morning it's a hot cup of Irish Breakfast which gets me going nice and smoothly. Can't wait to go over to England in July. Tea heaven!!
