registering a DOMAIN?!?!?
i know registering a domain has gotten insanely cheap. does anyone know of a cheap company to do that through that they trust? the ones im lookin' at are like $15 but ive seen them as low as $8.

I have used www.register4less.com which is part of tucows.com. I paid only 29.99 for 2 years which included 5mb of hosting. The amazing thing is when you call there is no voicemail you get a real live person to make things crazier they know what they are talking about. One time I called on a Saturday and talked to a person in three rings.

Domain name registration has now been deregulated.
 I registered a few domains before dereg and all of a sudden I started getting notices that my domains were about to expire... in 5 months! The first time it happened I figured it must have been a mistake. Then another "notice" came from some other company saying that I had to register with them within 30 days... for the same domains!I'd say shop around. It doesn't matter who you register with. Once it's registered it's registered. Then you need hosting... that's a different story.

www.your-site.com is the best deal I have found on the net. I have been using them for a year and have had no down time.

Heh... I see. Do they do it for you or do you have to develop the site yourself?
edit: Never mind, for 5 bucks a month I'm sure they expect you to do a lot of the work yourself, unless they farm it out to some developer in India!

Nope it's hosting ONLY I have no time for playing with it, I pop on the forums between phone calls and stuff but I have only so much between the ears and what I do have needs to turn profits.
