Hoover Hard Floor Cleaner is great

Bought a Hoover hard floor cleaner friday. It is for cleaning tile, vinyl, hardwood floors. It sprays down a little water/cleaner, has revolving brushes and sucks up the dirty water.

It worked GREAT. Good cleaning and floor was dry immediately.

PS.....yes I do help out around the house and having a gadget like this makes it alot more fun.

I have a commercial floor polisher I used to sand allt he floors in my house.

Now those things have some power. if you aren't careful, it can drag you across the floor..

we just picked up a floor polisher from sears. I have no idea which one we got, but its probably not like the huge commercial one we have.

Sand the floors..????? For refinishing???

This floor cleaner is not high volume and doesn't take any less time. It just does a great job of cleaning ceramic tile and the floor is dry in a heartbeat.

Plus it's more fun than a mop.

Was it expensive? I would like to explore that for my house, which is nearly 90% hardwood floors....

I think they are pretty cheap, under $200. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm also seriously considering getting one since the Swiffer just doesn't cut it for serious cleaning. We have mostly ceramic tile and will have wood eventually.

JCD do you have any experience with pet hairs and if it will easily pick them up. I'm wondering if I'll have to sweep before using this. Also how bad is cleanup, is it simple?

Love this forum, not only does it help maintain my car....but has the added value of maintaing the house too!

Re Cost: $180 at Bestbuy

Re: Pet hairs, works great. It works as a dry vacuum for before you do the wet cleaning. The pet hairs that you don't pick up during the dry vac you are able to get during the wet vacuum run. It does a much better job and the swiffer, which I love.

Re hardwood: I would be a little concerned about using is on hardwood floors. Even though our floors are only about 10 years old, some seams have developed between the "planks", especially during the winter when it is very dry. Water and wood don't go together that well, and I don't think that you could prevent some water from getting between the "planks".

Even if it is just for ceramic tile or vinyl and not the hardwood floors, it's worth the $.

Check a site called www.epinions.com. There a bunch of testimonials, both good and bad (mostly good)

hhmmm I've been wondering about buying this thing. Now that there are some good reviews from members of this great board I'm convinced :)

I'm getting one

Check www.epinions.com per my earlier post. They write very comprehensive review on that site, more than I have time to do.

It's a winner.
