W202 owners odometer readings...
Hey, what kinda mileage have people put on their W202 C-Class cars?
Our 1998 C230 has 132,500 kilometers, or 82,300 miles. She's just getting broken in!

95,000
95,000 (miles) on a 96 silver C-280.
215,000 on my 300e that was totaled by a "friendly" left turning motorist. the W202 replaced the lost 300. i thought the 300 was a great car, i think the 202 may be better! |

Being bigger than the average bear, can someone enlighten me as to the comparative interior space in a W202 (for the driver in particular) vs., say, a W124, W201, W203, and maybe even a BMW E34 5 series? These seem to be neat little cars and not too expensive, as long as I could fit comfortably.

My mother had one.
The front seats seemed to have just about the same room, with maybe a tad less shoulder room. The back seats have marginally less leg room. If you fit well in a W124, you'll feel right at home in a W202.

66k miles and counting. I did the 60k service myself just the other day it seems. I'm going to install the new wiring harness soon and then I should have many trouble free miles ahead.

41,000 on a 94 C280. Just bought it from a little old lady that only drove it to church, the bank, and to the store...literally. She just replaced the tires for the first time.

Wow, an old thread! I'm up to 177,000kms or 110,000 miles on the C230. Troubles? Well, the trans had a minor issue at 150K, and MB Canada replaced the entire trans/converter/etc. Super since.
One set of front lower ball joints One steering damper. One set of front shocks. One blower motor. One reseal of the final drive. One front and rear main seal, caused by the dealer. New driver's door air-bag and module. Air Mass Meter. Front brakes at 60K and 129K Rear brakes at 60K Lots of tires. Lots of oil and filters. Lots of other filters. Several sets of plugs. One windscreen. Overall, this has been the most reliable and durable car we've ever owned, inlcuding Honda, Acura, Mazda and others. Just last weekend I took for a 1000km run to the mountains and back and she was flawless. Excellent fuel economy, tight body, smooth running at all speeds. Not one drop of oil used yet, in it's life. The young fellow I took as my climbing partner could barely believe that the car was eight years old with 177K on the clock. He was sure it was brand new. I still enjoy driving the car and with recent gas prices, the economy of the aspro 2.3L is much appreciated. About three more years and she gets her 250K badge. I've never sold an MB with less than 300K on the clock, so I guess she'll have to stay put for a while yet...

I do love our C230. It's a 1997 and now has about 130,000 miles. It is one tough, solid, well-handling, fuel efficient, easy to work on, fun to drive, and safe vehicle. We've owned it for seven years. The following parts, in chronological order, have failed: water pump, MAF meter (iffy if this is really a "failure"), auxiliary fan relay, transmission valve body, and air conditioner compressor. Other than what I think of as secondary systems quality issues, it's a GREAT car.

I just broke 100k a week ago!
Most recently did: Flex discs (and center bearing) lower ball joints, shifter bushing, front shocks, control arm bushings, all fluids, alignment and new tires. Runs like a CHAMP!!!!! Needs nothing. We may be getting a c220 or c230 for my wife this summer.
