New E55
 

Saw the report for the E55 AMG the other day on Car & Driver. What a ride! 0-60 in 4.6 sec's! They actually talked up a Benz for once!
They said how it'll accelerate almost as fast as a Dodge Viper, but you get the comfort of the 4 door Benz. Of course it doesn't corner like a Viper, but I think I could live with that! Estmated cost is supposed to be around $75k. That puts it even cheaper than Viper I think.

Well, that's what the rumor is anyway.:D Probably better than my SD at least! It corners about as good as the Eifle(sp?) tower;) (How IS that spelled?)

No, it's a pig according to any European mags. Back end really snaps away dangerously I hear. But what'll I ever know? I'm never gonna buy something so tasteless.. (apologies to viper owners :D )

That car is a monster. It has AMG's supercharged 5.5L w/ 470bhp if I'm not mistaken. That is a huge jump up from the stock E500 with it's 300+bhp. They have it slated to top 200 mph right?

I think the report did mention that it is still governor-limited to 155mph. Go figure! Yes, they did say the HP was like 469. They showed several heart-pounding burn outs. Wish I'd recorded the program!:cool:
