I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows how you can go about getting a license to buy cars from the auctions in Georgia.

I know there's some kind of course or class you can take but I can't seem to find their number.


If you know anything about this, please post a number or website. I'm trying to help a friend who's trying to get into the car selling business.

What did you have to go through in MD, CJ?

In Virginia you have to take a test - you have to have a place of business capable of displaying 10 cars for sale - and you have to maintain office hours of at least 10 hours per week between the hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (or something approximating that time frame) Monday through Friday. There are strict business record-keeping requirements. Etc., Etc., Etc.

The VA Board of Dealers will come by your office randomly and if you are not there during your posted business hours, its a fine and possible loss of license.
