What a shopping list....
Last night we had a look at some cars, and made a list of cars within a certain price range. I will tell you that the low $30's to low $40's is one CROWDED market.
There are: ($28-32K) Honda Accord EX-L four and six Nissan Altima 2.5 and 3.5 Passat (base only) Mazda 6 - full load 4 or 6 cylinder Camry 4 banger Jetta Subaru Impreza Outback ($32-40K) Camry V6 BMW 320i Audi A4 1.8T Infiniti G35 Nissan Maxima Acura 3.2TL Lexus IS300 Passat - better equipped Subaru WRX Mercedes CL230 Mercedes C240 (base only) PLUS, on the used front we also saw (less than $40K) 1997 Mercedes E420 1998 BMW 540i 1998 Lexus LS 1999 Lexus GS300 1998 Lexus GS400 This is going to be one tough job...

hmmmm I would think a benz would be a nice one to get john, but some of those other cars seem tempting too.
The WRX is quick, but I don't like the feel it has... I kind of get that smae feeling with most cars that aren't benzes. ITs a feeling or a lack of feeling solid. Alon

So you are not really getting a Maybach? Sigh
Okay, how about living a little and getting a Lexus....? Just think of it: good service, from an almost 10 year JD Powers people's choice winner. You get a new car warranty, a no problem Lexus or Toyota loaner (far better than a Ford Focus crap that you’d get from a MB dealer) when the car is in for service. Excellent gas mileage, average depreciation and all the other niceties you get from Lexus. Sure some in your family would be riled, but like I said....live a little!

I like the WRX and the '97 E420.
Does BMW sell a 2.0 liter 6-cylinder 3-series (320i) in Canada? That's news to me, the base 3-series up here is the 2.5 liter 325i. The Lexus IS might also be nice, if you don't mind looking a little "import tuner". -Sam |
