Medical question

My 380SL is running fine but I am not. Just have been told by my doctor that I have lumbar spinal stenosis and will probably need surgery. Just wondering if anyone out there has experienced this and could enlighten me as to what to expect. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Bobby:

Sorry to hear that! Here is a good medical link I use for info on medical terms, illness/conditions, and Rx medication info (I pre-linked it to Lumbar Spinal Stenosis). There are also links on the bottom of the first page to a degenerative disc center for even more info on the alternative procedures and the disease itself.

I hope you are feeling OK and work through this without any problems. By the way, every doctor I know says that for back surgery, get at least 3 opinions before having the surgery, and find the best, most experienced surgeon you can.

Best of luck!

Good evening John,

Thanks for the reply and advice as well as the website. I have looked at a number of sites and will check this one. I have to do another MRI and some sort of a nerve test to comfirm what the doctor says. I have been going through this since this past June with intermittent pain and it is getting old. Thanks again.

I had a herniated disc about ten years ago....and from what I have read about your type condition you might get some relief from the associated muscle pain if you read any of the books by Bonnie Prudden.... she was President Carter's fitness council head... her books have to do with Myotherapy... something close to pressure point therapy... It does not address the actual bone situation... but many times muscles react to protect themselves... and go into spasm.... this helps on that level.... and might postpone the need for surgery by making you more comfortable... it appears that surgery is associated with less mobility .....

While the site talks about going to a person trained by them ... I have had great relief from doing it to myself.... even the large muscles on the rear I reach myself with a wooden cane....the book tells everything you need to know about it...
