LOL.... in no particular order.....
I have driven Subes for many years , after many years of VW's... I have THREE 1981 SILVER SUBE STATION WAGONS....LOL... I paid $128 for one, $150 for another .... they are really easy to work on.... took four doors, windshield, and engine out of one of those and put them into the other one.... with a $200 Weber carb and the five speed it makes for a fast cheap car....
Talk about room to spare ( PUN ) .... my station wagons store the ( full size ) spare tire under the hood above the engine...
The pushrod 1800 cc engines ( like I have ) are favored by Experimental Aircraft builders for use in their planes... you don't get much better recommendation for longivity than that....
The sube 1800 engine is just a VW engine with the 7 major faults of the VW corrected....
