7,800 original mile 6.9?

Is this not the 2nd 7,800 original mile MBZ I have seen on ebay in the last week? I am referring to the 240D and the 300SDL which have been discussed on this site. TOOOO wierd.

A 200 miles stick? That's some serious distance! I would at least take it for a test drive

I always wanted one of these.

This is an odd car. It has Euro headlights & wipers, but U.S. bumpers. I wonder if it's a grey market car, and what you're seeing is the number of miles accumulated since it was converted? The back seat upholstery doesn't look all that great, can't really see the fronts. No mention of books & records either. I'd stay away, especially at the crazy pricing.

That looks identical to the one I saw for sale yesterday. Except this one has 70 some thousand miles on it, looks to be nice. The owner is asking 17,000. Cool car but I couldn't justify spending that kind of cash on an old 6.9 being in my present situation.

Man do I drool when I see a 6.3 or a 6.9 (actually my indie has TWO 6.9's for sale if anyone's interested, let me know), but I remember hearing someone say that the reason they were named the 'bankers hot-rod' was that you needed to own a bank to afford to keep one! - could easily give a W140 a run for it's money and that's just the basic maintenance...

Also, I remember Stu Ritter, on the Ritter-Easely email list saying he had a customer who was convinced the '6' in the 6.9 stood for 6x the times price for every part on the car compared to other SEL's of the same vintage.

Again, love the cars, but doubt I'll ever own one

Regards,
- Ryan

Actually, euro spec cars sometimes had ACC, like our cars. It just pretty rare to see. check out this site and look at used 6.9's www.mobile.de

I work in Tampa, live in Brooksville. I ought to go take a look at it and post my findings. Looks like the tach doesn't work in the gauge picture. (or the oil and temp gauges are stuck)

Nevermind, it is in Naples. Saw the Tampa/St Pete before Naples, which is a couple of hours south of here. I agree, I want so underhood pics. There have been several 6.9's on Ebay recently and not one of them has any underhood pictures. Engine must be shy:p
