ML 500 or Range Rover 4.4

If you had the choice of driving either an 2003 ML 500 or a 2003 Range Rover 4.4 for a long weekend, which would you choose and why?

Range Rover....

I can't think of anything that the ML does that the Range-Rover doesn't do better....

Too bad over here the Range Rovers are played out already, all you see is Cayenne's and Tuaregs.....

Take the ML . The RR looks like a box on wheels . Also my next door neighbor who has one says that they break down alot because of bad engineering and the time and cost in the shop is not worth it .

One thing about owning a real expensive SUV , are you really going to jump ditches in it ? MB , BMW , LEXUS , ACURA , INFINITY , ESCALADE , RANGE ROVER etc . Most of the people I see driving them don`t . More than anything they`re status symbols .

the range rover is very nice, unique, and a seriously good looking truck.

I like them.

If I had to choose, it would be tough, because the mercedes is also a nice truck too.

But the Range Rover to me is like the Rolls Royce of trucks, great looking, well made, not too reliable unless maintained properly, but thats how a rolls is anyway.

I would choose the range rover if I had never driven one before, otherwise I would choose the ml if I hadn't driven that but had driven the rover.

Either way you can't go wrong.

hehe mark, the comment about them being boxes on wheels is so true. My brother has a 93 range rover, and his mechanic actually told him... "It's a box on wheels, don't drive it like a race car..."

But my brother doesn't listen to him, and has spent over $15k on the car in 3 years maintaining it.

in 2.5 years with my benz, I have no spent more than $4000 maintaining it, and a big chunk of that was rebuilding the tranny because the previous owner of my car had not changed the tranny fluid at all.

I just had my tranny fluid replaced after 25k miles, and it still looked brand new. My mech was wondering why I even bothered to have it changed, but he didn't charge me for the change anyway, he only commented how the fluid looked as new.

Gotta love benzes.

I choose neither because they are both completely pointless vehicles. The only reason for wanting one is the high seating position.

beaten up Land-Rover, or G-wagen, yes i'd gladly accept

If you're going to do something, do it properly :p

They are good!

I had a Range Rover when I was working on a project in Brazil. It never let me down and always made it through the mud without a problem. It was alos very easy to work on in the middle of the jungle.
