When did I ever mention Italian-Americans? It seems that you are prejudiced to a certain extent assuming that I was generalizing a certain ethnic group, while the reality remains that there are many different forms of organized crime with various ethnicities included, i.e. russian mafia, yakuza, colombian cartel, chinese triad, etc. Don't try to put words in my mouth, capice?

I never said that all italians are mafia members, nor did I say all mafia members are italians. I merely said that the fact that person was in the mob gave the possibility of added protection, wether it be bullet proof windows/doors, plated armor, or whatever you can think of (flamethrowers included).

I heard that if you run the car rich, and custom wire a spark plug into your exhaust tip it would work. On my car it would seem to be very easy because all you have to do is turn an alan screw to change the mixture, but I have yet to do this. I have never tried it myself, so nobody start flaming me for it being a stupid idea.

Oh yeah, I'm sorry, but I have never driven a french luxury car before in my life. I figure there has to be a reason there aren't any peugot, citroen, or renault dealerships around here, I don't think I am missing much.

PS: Sorry for making a bunch of posts all at once, I've been out and am replying as I read posts.

Good point, I figured he was talking about newer models, and very few new diesels are imported to the USA.

If you look for a car, which can take a lot of abuse, a Peugeot 504, 505 or 604 would be the first choice.

The 504 ist still considered the best ride for a Taxi-business in North Africa. Was produced in Argentina until 1999, btw.

Iran Kohdro actually builds a rear wheel drive version of the 405.

Kind regards
Eberhard

For throwing flames, you need fuel. Either a very rich setting, or a injection nozzle which is installed after the catalytic converter.

The oxygen sensor of the catalytic converter will always get the fuel-air ratio around lambda 1, so you wouldn't have any surplus fuel left for burning.

Take an incection noozle of a K-jet Mercedes, put a fuel pump behind it and press gasoline through this device. Ad the spark plug and you can throw flames like crazy.

Need I have to tell you, that this won't make you any faster? Not in the Diesel, not in the 560 SEL?

For people who do stuff like this the website The Jacky Touch...

might be of interest.

Look for the galleries and enjoy.

Kind regards
Eberhard

ack... popup hell!!! As far as teh O2 sensor, I was under the impression that the earlier K-jetronic injection did not have an O2 sensor, that is why I would think this can work. I would think the concern about the cats is that running rich kills the cats after a while.

PS: I heard about the exhaust-flamethrower here:

Depends on the catalytic converter.

K-jet usually didn't have catalytic converters. The KE-jet had.

There was this guy called Paul Wurm who invented an aftermarket catalytic converter which meets and exceeds the toughest emission laws.

Kind regards
Eberhard
(MY 84 230 E with K-Jet which meets european emission laws mandatory for new cars MJ 97 and younger)

BTW: Good night now, it is three in the morning)
