Smile How many of you read while you drive!?

Twice in the last two days did I see someone reading something in the car as they were driving on the freeway.
One was a W126 420SEL or similar.
So people on the 580 in the Bay Area, be extra careful!
It doesn't make me too inclined to take my fintail out of the garage.

My wife has been riding into work with me in the morning and she's so surprised at what people do in their cars in rush hour traffic. So far, we've seen the newspaper in the lap folks, the eye makeup (including lash curlers) or makeovers using the drivers vanity mirror, the feeding the kids in the back seat while driving maneuver, the electric razor over the Vin Diesel haircut while driving, but our favorite was the guy with two cell phones, one in each hand, so he must have been steering with his knees, which with a Mercedes stock steering wheel is possible.

Howdy All,
I am not a multi-tasker. Reading is the last thing on my list of things to do while driving. I won't call anybody with the cell phone while driving. When driving the company vehicles if I get a call I will answer it and try to hold a conversation. When done talking and getting back to paying attention to driving I am surprised at my surroundings, and have to figure out how far I drove while on the phone because I was "lost in conversation". If the phone talk was going to last more than a minute or the traffic was a little busy I would tell the caller to wait so I could pull over and get the vehicle stopped.

Funny that you mentioned it. I saw a lady with a New York license plate reading a novel while traveling at 50 + miles on the DC Beltway one evening rush hour last week. She was right next lane to me and that made me very nervous. It is this kind of inconsiderate S.O.B. causes wreck on the Beltway and tie up trafffic for hours. I thought about lowering my window and told her either pull off the highway and finishes off her novel or put the damn thing down and drive. People like that just really pisses me off.

Yup! I remember about six months ago on the Capital Beltway during morning rush hour in heavy traffic seeing this woman using her right hand to apply mascera. In her left hand was her cell phone, which she was using. Her eyes were looking into the vanity mirror in her visor. I COULDN'T believe it!!

They piss me off too!!

I would have honked at her or something but figured she didn't need another distraction. My luck, she'd wreck the car then sue me for damages!!
