who has the worst condition car?

Alright all, we are looking to find the worst condition Mercedes on the forum.

You know, stuff like
'The door locks broke so I welded a bolt to the door and use a padlock'
'It doesn't turn off so I have to get out and open the bonnet every time' (I KNOW someone has this)
'My drivers door is red and the car is blue'
etc

I can't chip in with much... mine runs great and has only minor body blemishes.., occasionally the alarm won't disarm and I have to unlock it manually, set off the alarm, open the hood and disable it with the key, but that's aftermarket stuff.

later!

Russ

uhmmm

There were some holes around the rear wheel well / trunk(boot) area so I used some duct-tape to cover 'em up. They held up for a year or so until I fixed them no water nothing...

They're right.. duct tape is an engineer's best friend

Rust holes

The formation of rust holes in the boot (trunk) floor are nature taking its own course. The water has to get out somewhere!

Hmm...compared to the examples given, my car's good! Everything works properly at the moment, except for the cruise control (the left rear window works, but won't for long...probably needs a new regulator). There are still soem front suspension issues that make the car shake some (guide rod mounts), but it's livable.

However, the interior needs a lot of help. I think the headliner may be sagging, although I don't have another 123 to compare it to. The headliner's not ripped, though, and the door panels and dash are in great shape. The seats, though, are horrid. The rear seat is actually not too bad, although it's sun-faded and there are some discoloration marks. The passenger's front seat is pretty well ripped up, and the driver's seat is ripped, cracked, and heaven-knows-what-else. The front armrest cover is almost completely destroyed on the top.

The exterior...the paint's actually happy, except some bad spots on the hood (I've been told that a re-paint is necessary ) There's a serious dent just aft of the left rear door. It doesn't affect the operation of the door or weather-sealing, but if seen in the right light, make sthe car look really bad.

Other than that, my car's not bad. I wish I could find a place that sold the OEM velour cloth seat covers...with that and the dent being fixed, my car woul dlook almost mint.

My last MB was so badly rusted that the front end steering components fell out. This explained the need to turn the wheel 1/2 turn to get the car to start turning...

My first MB (the '73 220) was pretty rough...it had NO REVERSE. I parked where there was a slope or pushed her. How it passed inspection I do not know.

It also filled up with water and broke down pretty regularly, but the lack of reverse should be hard for someone to beat here...

When i first got my drivers licence my dad let me have his old W108 280 SE,

that thing had faded paint on the roof and the hood, the interiour was in 2 diffrent colors, and the door panels where all ripped.

it had 2 very large holes in the floor covered up with a flattened out shoe box, no radio and no way to hook one up.

The ground for the starter button on the tranny was broken so i sometime had to "jiggle" the wire to get it to start,

the ignition system was very bad causing the car to frequently shut off.

it had no engine "shock absorbers" so driving past 60 mph was horrable, but still i had a lot of fun with that car and plan on restorng it later.
