Heavy Metal Thunder...
Took the bike out for a serious romp. Great sunny 23C weather.
First, this Honda is down on power, but that's okay. My last road bike was a 150+hp monster. This 43 pony twin is just fine for me now. Just topped the tank off, and sat at the gas station for a minute deciding which way to go. That's the best way to plan a ride: don't plan. I took off north, the V-twin pounded out it's heartbeat as traffic thinned. A quick downshift dispatched the last "cage" I could see for some distance. Rolling the power on, the wind pounded me. Just what the doctor ordered. The cruiser is no sport bike, but I snapped it through some ess-bends and over a bridge. The soft suspension bottomed, but we came down in one piece. With the throttle to the stop, the exhaust roared and we moved the speedo needle up a few notches. After nearly an hour of fun, I rode into a small town some distance north of the city. Seeing a BMW bike stopped for gas, I rolled in to top it off again. The BMW guy was doing the same as me: escaping. He headed west and I went east. Another hour and a half of alternating between rolling along smeeling the feed-lots and ripping the pavement up, I eased into the parking lot of the video store. I hopped off and snatched the movie cassette out of the saddle bag. After returning it, I headed right home. Helen: "Where have you been?" Me: "Taking the movie back." As I tucked my gloves into my helmet, she shook her head knowingly... Live to ride, ride to live.

I used to go up the coast to Santa Barbara to get gas, except it took a tank of gas to get there
