Advice on purchase of '84 380 SE
Hey guys,
A friend of mine is thinking of purchasing an '84 380-SE soon. Is there anything he needs to know regarding the reliablility of this model and how much he can expect to spend annually on normal repairs? The car has 190,000 miles and drives great on the highway. He plans to take it to his mechanic next week to have it looked over. Thanks! |

once again....its a great car, just insure that the engine has a doublw row timing chain and not the single chain because if it had that one, it will one day snap and do engine damage.

For my own future reference, is there a way to tell if it's had the double-row chain conversion by just looking at it? Can you see the chain thru the oil filler hole, or anything like that?
