Anyone ever heard of "The Streets?"

My new favorite group. Sort of spoken word, sort of rap, I dunno what I'd call it. Cooleset background beats and music, wittiest humor and lyrics I've heard!
They are British, maybe Pentoman will know them.

Also, anyone ever hear of Wesley Willis? The funniest African American Schizophrenic spoken word artist ever. From Chicago. Extremely vulger.

The Streets

KylePavao,

They have recently received a few second-places in some British Music Industry award ceremonies (usually to Miss Dynamite).

The industry probably thinks their music is too far from the mainstream. It's also very much inner-London street-talk, so wouldn't go down as well in other cities over here.

I recon they're one the most original thinkers in music today, but how much sense the lyrics make to you guys across the pond is anyone's guess......

KylePavao.

I haven't heard that particular track, but "Kronenburgs" probably refer to the beer that's popular here (It's good stuff too, 5% alcohol).

I reccon that "Sri Lanker" is cockney rhyming slang for Wanker.......

I'll have to get myself another listen......now where did I put the Ritzzlas.....

Kronenburg is a beer brewed in Kronenburg (surprise, surprise) just north of Strassburg in France.

Kind regards
Eberhard
