Driving gloves
Does any one wear driving gloves? Is it considered chic and makes one look cool ( keeps the hand cool from a hot steering wheel ) or are there any other advantages.

I don't use drving gloves, but my mom got me a pair of tight fitting leather gloves for Christmas that fit perfectly and are great when it's cold outside. Other than that, it's just my greasy Italian skin! |

Hmph, I don't have stubby thumbs or fingers for that matter but my left thumb is without any nerve endings thanks to some engineer's wonderful design of W202 C-Class tail light sockets
BTW, I do have a pair of driving gloves which I got from the BMW dealership. They're great, very thin, nice leather and best of all, only $25/pair! They do wear though, I'm on my second pair and they're reserved for driving the TR6.

My girlfriend's mother got me some beautiful leather gloves for Christmas a couple years ago. Up here you have to have gloves to drive in the winter but after so many years of cheap leather and vinyl gloves these were amazing. I don't know the brand offhand but they are dress gloves like you might were with a nice suit, made from butter-soft leather. I have to say they really stuck to the wheel. I felt like I had much more control over the car, even more than I had barehanded actually. I probably wouldn't wear them in the summer though...

I finally found a a pair of old grand prix drivers gloves. Full finger ventilated black leather, laurel leaves on the backs with the JC (Jim Clark) monogramed buttons. I've wanted these since reading all those old Road & Track reports of the GP in Europe.

Howdy All,
I don't use gloves when I drive the Cruiser but I use glves when I drive the YJ and I wore gloves when driving the Mog. When I start driving the Mog again I will wear gloves. No power steering on the YJ or the Mog. If you want to look at some gloves try www.davidmorgan.com They carry Geier gloves which are nice. I don't have any connection with David Morgan other than a satisfied customer.
