Tail lights are similar to the '48, but the window chrome says '52 or '53.

The fins are too high for a '48. I'm going to guess more like a '55 or even '56, the year before they got REALLY big.

Man... this car is BIG, seen from behind it looks like an "hover craft".
I would like to have one of these some time in the future.

Thanks for the info, it's a good starting point.

There was a farm up the road that had a nice yellow '56 sitting in a car port for the longest time. I was always going to stop and see if it was for sale. Never did. Now it's gone Thing looked sweet from the road, just missing the hub caps.

Saw a #3 '53 4dr (origional condition, "low milage" one owner, you know) for $3500 a couple years ago. Looked it over, sat in it, drooled on it, but "the boss" said no

I've got a collection of Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Hot Rod, ect, magazines from the fifties. Really fun to read the test reports on the "new' cars. All the "latest" features (air conditioning ) are a real hoot.

For any of you "youngsters" reading this the round part of the rear bumpers out at the end at the bottom is the exit for the exaust pipes. The taillights (don't remember which side - I think the drivers side) flip up and expose the fuel fill nozzle. My grandmother had a late 50's Caddy and I remember putting fuel in it for her when I was around 7 or so. Don't remember the exact model year though.
