bad morning
Man what a bad morning.....late for work 1 hour and 15 mins then as im pulling into the street the car starts rumbling very badly. I park and the back muffler came apart on the clamp because it was so badly rusted. I noticed the rust beforehand but it still wasnt bad enough for it to fall off. The car sounds awful!!!
just wanted to vent a bit....  anyones muffler ever come off or got a hole?

Sorry your having a crappy morining. WHat part of the muffler the rear resinator?
My mom bashed in the 2 front resinators on the 500 the first week we had it 550 to get both replaced with a lifetime warr. from Midas

ya the resonator where it attaches to the rest of the pipe. It now hanging on somehow and I will see how it is to get home with it.

I'm not to sure on US spec exhaust but if I remeber right the rear muffler was running like 292 last I looked

Im thinking of getting the whole muffler system made out of stainless steel instead of dealing with this stuff every few years. My dad has a freind that can make a stainless steel muffler system for it.
I have to patch this up for now

Later this afternoon the car was taken in and they inspected the whole muffler system. Besides the clamp that was holding the resonator on in the back....the rest is still good. The resonator was taken off, lightly sanded and repainted and clamped and welded back on with stainless steel clamps.
