Favorite and Least Favorite Radio Voices

Who are your favorite and least favorite voices in radio (not personalities, but voices)?

I think Lisa Mullins on NPRs The World is my favorite. Diane Rehm on NPRs Diane Rehm Show is my least favorite, so much so I often wonder how she got the job.

I have listened to lots of older radio shows on CD and cassette and one of the older radio show hosts I came across with a good voice is a Canadian called Peter Zowski. I'm not sure if it is his interviewing technique or voice I like. He has a morning show in Toronto.

the worst is that shrill screech by Hillary during her latest performance for the Unions in NY. She is trying to get credit for the win in Iraq- can you believe this ????
No favorite voice except these Hispanic announcers during any soccer match.

I've always like Paul Harvey's voice too.

Anyone remember Wolfman Jack? He was on a local station in DC (WPGC, which now plays rap and stuff) when I was a kid. He kinda sounded like a wolfman too!

I'm old enough to remember Wolfman!

The voiceovers on the "Crazy Taxi" video game sound like him too!

Tried to tell my daughter about "Wolfman" to no avail...then "American Graffiti" came on TV one evening, so I could just let her watch the scene in the movie where Wolfman had a cameo role...

Is he still alive?

I think I heard he passed away a few years ago, but I'm not sure.

Yep. Found a web site.
http://www.wolfmanjack.org/wolfhistory.htm

"On July 1st, 1995, he had just completed a 20-day trip to promote his new book "Have Mercy, The Confession of the Original Party Animal," about his early career and parties with celebrities. "He walked up the driveway, went in to hug his wife and then just fell over," said Lonnie Napier, vice president of Wolfman Jack Entertainment.

Wolfman Jack, one of the nation's most recognizable personalities, died of a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Lou Smith; a daughter Joy Rene Smith (who as well passed away shortly after him), and a son, Tod Weston Smith. Wolfman was only 57."
